(Note: I know I'm starting these pretty late in the game, so to catch you all up here's some info. This is my first pregnancy, we are having a boy, and so far there are no health complications for baby or me. We are seeing a midwife off-base and are planning a natural hospital birth in September. To the left is an ultrasound photo from around 23 weeks of Baby J and his adorable noggin.)
How big is baby: about 2.5 pounds and 15 inches long
Appearance: Ovia says he's much less wrinkly than he used to be
Cravings: Root beer and ice.
Symptoms: Lots of BH contractions, lower back pain, and some seriously impressive cankles. Also, NESTING. Wow that hit out of nowhere. I have never cleaned so obsessively than in the last four days.
Mom is feeling: Very tired due to her awkwardly large belly and the southern heat keeping her up all night.
Dad is feeling: Impatient and ready for baby J to get here.
Belly: I'm pretty sure people are shocked when I tell them I haven't quite made the 30 week mark. What can I say, it decided one day that it was going to pop out there and it hasn't gone back in.
Weight Gain: I really am not sure at this point. I'm assuming I gained a few vacation pounds while we were in California, but I'll know for sure tomorrow.
Doctory stuff: My Glucose Tolerance Test is scheduled for 9:45 am tomorrow (oh joy!) and I believe I might get to schedule my next ultrasound then too. Other than that, no news. Our trip messed up my schedule with the midwife clinic so I'm hoping to get back into the swing of regular appointments soon.
Things we’ve done to prepare: We got one of the boxes of baby clothes from the shower in the mail and all the outfits are currently being washed. Could I have waited another two months to wash them? Yes, yes I could have. Let's ignore how neurotic I'm being and move along. We also purchased a bassinet, my ergo baby infant insert, and a tummy time mat that's now taking up space in the living room. Again, maybe that purchase could have waited, but now it's here and staring at me in all its safari-themed splendor.
